I recently had covid so I decided to start with the basics programme within NETGym to ease myself back into fitness and to warm up ahead of the rest the netball season starting again the end of January. I then supplemented that with a mix of sessions from the NETHome section of the membership from shooting practice to strength and cardio.  I have a lot of experience with weight training but even the basics programme sufficiently challenged me whilst ensuring I was targeting key muscle groups for my netball matches. I haven’t done plyometrics before but just 2 weeks of inclusion to my training was enough to have impact on the court in our first game back!I felt more agile on my feet and was able to reach more intercepts then ever before. It’s so exciting to have something so targeted to netball to look forward to and help motivate me in the gym and with improving my netball game!

I started training with jenni a few weeks ago having lost ALOT of confidence following injury and from not being played by my Coach. I explained my issues to Jenni in a quick call and went along to my first session not quite knowing how she was going to help…..but she nailed it. Jenni has more knowledge than a lot of trainers I have been coached by (I have played at county level so have had very good training), and knew instantly what I needed to work on. She has tailored each session intrinsically to my specific needs and everything she says makes perfect sense. I feel like my confidence has already been boosted dramatically and I look forward to each fun session. It helps that she is an absolute gem too! Thank you Jenni!!!

I have greatly enjoyed the time I have spent with Jenni as she has taught me a wide range of new skills not only improving my netball, but sports performance in general. All the girls loved the session, even though it was a tough work out in the sun! The training was pitched perfectly to stretch them but remain fun, and each felt that they improved their technique. Watching from the side-lines it was clear you kept them totally engaged and gave meaningful individual feedback. They loved being back together on court after such a long time, working hard and learning from a really energetic and passionate coach.

PROTECT THE NEST

Surround a defensive players with cones.

Attacking players have 40s to steal as many cones as possible. They must start outside of the third, run in and steal a cone and take back to the outside of the area.

Defensive players can protect their nest by tagging players when they try to steal the cone. If a player is tagged, they do not collect the cone and must reset to the outside before they get another chance.

This is great for testing teamwork, agility, speed, reactions and spatial awareness!

OCTOBER CAMP 💪🏽

A great first day at Camp with our athletes focusing on:

💜 Using Chase Down Attack
💜 Creating width and depth through court
💜 Recovering from the intercept and winning ball

We also had a fantastic masterclass from @netballscotland defender @cerys_finn! Including a chance to ask lots of questions and learn about her career in the sport!
